Moving Day

Moving Day

I took a few last pictures of our house and how it's changed since we moved in. We are going to miss it! It's been a good little house for us. Then we packed everything into boxes the next day and the scouts moved us out the next day. It was awful because Grace got the flu and was throwing up everywhere. All she wanted was milk, but everytime we gave her any she would throw up. It was horrible trying to pack, move things, direct the scouts on where to put things, and hold Grace trying to make sure she didn't get close to anyone so they wouldn't get sick. It was exhausting.

My poor little sicky

Bare bones

Aaron was really worried the motorcycle wouldn't fit, but he drove it in and then packed boxes around it. Everything was strapped into place and everything fit in a 16ft Penske truck. I couldn't believe it. Grace, the dogs, the plants, and the suitcases rode with me in the Escape, and the fish (we put them in a pickle bucket), and EVERYTHING else rode with Aaron.

We drove 9 hours the first day, and 4 hours the next day. We stayed in Reno overnight at a hotel. This was my view both days. There wasn't hardly any traffic, and it was beautiful scenery. Grace only had a few fits and those were when she was really tired. She only threw up one time and it was right after we pulled her out of the car. I tossed her clothes in the trash and we gave her a bath. Overall, it wasn't an awful trip, just very long.

We literally drove to the Realty office, grabbed keys, signed a contract, and met a whole bunch of boys in the parking lot of our place from our ward to unpack. I walked into our place and wanted to cry. It was tiny, and they had obviously taken an old hotel and remodeled it into apartments. I had messed up the addresses I thought we were getting. The one are in is 2850 and the ones next door are 2805-they are the ones with the pool and the dog park and space to play outside. It was extremely disappointing. Plus to top it all off, it was over a 100 degrees outside and inside because our A/C wasn't connected yet.

This was our place after all the boxes came in. Literally all of the rooms looked like this. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't even sure where to start! I couldn't clear out any of the rooms to put them together because all of the rooms were covered in things! It was crazy. We got our beds put together and went to sleep. The next day we really got to work and put it all somewhat together.

Our living room

Grace's room is the best. She has a dresser, her crib, and her toy buckets, and the rest of the room is storage. We have our bikes, kayaks, and all of our miscellaneous stuff in there.

Our kitchen is connected to the living room, and it's all cabinets on one side, and our table on the other. We also have our bedroom and bathroom and some storage cabinets. It's a little place, but I think we will get used to it. It's only for one year! We can make anything work for a year.
