Mossbrae Falls

Mossbrae Falls

Our friend told us Mossbrae Falls was her favorite falls around here. One morning we packed up the car and drove to Dunsmuir which is just short of Mt. Shasta. The hike itself wasn't bad, but there isn't any parking for it and it's technically on private property so it's a little sketchy. The entire hike is on active railroad tracks so you have to watch and listen for trains. We didn't see any the day we went.

We took this little pedestrian trail next to the railroad bridge and it was really freaky to see how far up you were and not really have any hand railings to hold just little bits of cable. I can't imagine being on there while a train rolled past.

The trail down

Mossbrae Falls is beautiful! It's like 8 different waterfalls and the background is all green.

After we had our fill, we took another trail down to the Pacific Crest Trail! Holy cow! Life goals and bucket list rolled into one. Aaron found a fishing spot and I put my toes on the Pacific Crest Trail for a bit. Aaron had to work that night so we didn't get to spend as long as we wanted there, but it was fun.
