Whiskeytown Lake
Whiskeytown is a gorgeous clear lake about 15 minutes from our house. It's a national recreation area so we are glad we have a pass. Dogs aren't allowed on the beaches of the lake, but they are allowed everywhere else. We cooled off at Brandy Creek Beach. There were geese and deer all over, and a sign that said to watch out for bears. I guess they have been active in the area, but we didn't see one.
On our way home Aaron had to stop the car because a rattlesnake was crossing the road. Yikes! He was also brave (or stupid) enough to get out of the car and take a picture. No thanks.
