Black Canyon

Black Canyon

For my birthday we kayaked black canyon. We did this trip last year with Melissa, but we left later this time and saw the real emerald cave. It was warm, and the wind kicked up a bit, but the sun was directly in the cave so it light up so bright. It was really fun.

Grace started out on Daddy's lap and when she was tired of him we switched.

About a mile in we saw a whole bunch of Big Horn Mountain Sheep. There were about fifteen out on the mountain in front of us.

There were a ton of people kayaking in and out since it was such a beautiful day. This beach is at the 2 mile mark just in front of Emerald cave. We parked at the beach and ate lunch to wait our turn.

Grace loved feeding the ducks. Quack quack. Ducks.

Emerald Cave. All the kayakers had gone back by now, we figured it out a few minutes after we started back. The wind kicked up so bad we had a hard time getting out of the canyon. We got quite the work out in.

The ducks followed us in looking for snacks

As soon as the wind started up, Grace cuddled in tight and fell asleep. She slept the whole way back.

Nothing quite like a Pit Burger!

After we got home Aaron made me a cake. It was delicious.
