Ohana Celebration
Ohana means family, and also a huge celebration at the Spring's Preserve to celebrate the Polynesian culture. Our friends Bethany and Jason have a little girl Moriah that is only a few months younger than Grace. Jason went on his mission to New Zealand, and Aaron went on his to Samoa, so this culture is pretty close to both of their hearts.
We thought it would be super cute if we all dressed up in lava lava's, and Aaron has plenty of them from his mission, so we got all decked out. We were literally the only ones who dressed up! Except the dancers who were performing. It was a little embarrassing, but who doesn't want to pretend they are a Polynesian Princess just for the day?
We went to the food court and ate a whole bunch of Musubi, which is basically spam wrapped in rice wrapped in seaweed. It sounds disgusting, but it was really good. Grace even had a few bites.
Moriah and Grace
Grace loves Moana, we watch it everyday, so we thought she would like to meet her. Nope. She just wanted to hula hoop. No matter that she didn't even know how to do it She would put the hoop over herself, let it fall to the ground, and spin in circles. It was hilarious!
Moriah got tuckered out pretty fast.
Snow cones!
They had a ton of different crafts. We tied bracelets made from real leaves, we made sand bracelets, and we got some awesome tattoos. (These ones mom might even approve.) We had a really good time with some fun friends. We really like the Spring's Preserve and all of the activities they put on.
