Portage Pass

Portage Pass

We weren't really sure if we wanted to go camping or not when we got home from church because it was supposed to be raining and backpack camping in the rain is pretty miserable. All you want to do is stay in the tent. We were feeling very undecided, but after dinner we decided to just do it. We left at 9pm, and got up there around 11:00pm. Good thing it doesn't get too dark here in the summer! We spent about an hour finding the perfect spot to pitch our tent, but it was soooooo perfect! The moss we were on was heaven sent! It was just as good as our mattress at home and we were surrounded by purple lupine with a view of the Prince William sound out one door and a view of Portage Glacier out the other.

Me hiking the last bit up from Whitter

Aaron

Me and Kodi Bear

I love this because Kodi is looking at Aaron by the lake and Sadie is looking at me. :)

There were tons of kettle ponds along the way

And lots of flowers!

Glacier Camping!

Aaron made us breakfast in the morning with our awesome camp stove kit

On our way out in the pouring rain. We decided not to hike to the glacier like we had originally planned because we were already sick of the rain. Better luck next time! At least its an easy one to get back to, just a few miles up into Portage Pass.
