Our second anniversary

Our second anniversary

Aaron and I have been married for two years! Woah! It seems so weird we have been a couple for three years. Money was tight this year, so we planned our day around mostly free things, and decided to do home made gifts under 15 dollars. It was the best anniversary ever! I don't know how we are going to top this one. (Ski-diving maybe?)

We started out the day sleeping in and with some lazy kisses, but when we finally got up we went downhill skiing for the second time. (We have free passes so its only thirty dollars to rent the equipment.) Oh my gosh! Skiing the best! I love love love it. I was absolutely terrified to go down Chair 7 because I didn't want to fall and it has a big steep section. The first time down I practiced my turns, which totally sucked by the way, and pretty much squealed and screamed the whole way down. I did end up falling, so the next time we went down I just straight tipped it and didn't turn. lol. Aaron was only a quarter of the way down when I stopped and turned around to look at him at the bottom of the mountain. I wish I had a picture of his face. He  was in complete shock. He was sure I was going to kill myself. By the fourth time down I had completely worked out my turns so I was in control and having a blast. We crushed it! I love going fast! Alyeska has the steepest, longest downhill skiing trail in North America, so once you've skied here you can ski anywhere. I can't wait to do some of the bigger Chairs.

We had some quick lunch and then drove into town for the movies (which we also had free tickets for). I really wanted to see Jack Reacher, but it wasn't in theaters anymore so we saw The Hobbit instead. It's a very rare occurrence to get into town to watch a movie so it was really fun. We stuffed our pockets full of candy and I actually had a soda which never happens. :)

We decided to dine in instead of going out to eat and Aaron found out how to cook crab from our 5 star restaurant Seven Glaciers. Best Crab EVER! Aaron made some purified butter and cut the crab in half and steamed it. It was also freshly caught Alaskan King Crab so that may have helped. We also had sirloin steak and sweet potato fries and I made carrot cake with cream cheese frosting with a chocolate caramel drizzle. Yum!!!

I am super proud of the cake because it is gluten free and you would not have been able to tell. Not very often does this happen with desserts. It also blew up in the oven and I still saved it! Who owns the kitchen now! lol. Next time I'm halving the recipe so I don't have to clean out the oven.

Making home made gifts is so hard! I made Aaron a scavenger hunt with tasks attached to the clues, so before he read the next clue he had to do the task (sharing chocolate covered strawberries, toasting to our favorite memory, helping me pick out what to wear for tonight, dancing, ect). It lead to a jar filled with 64 Reese's (two packages) that had tags on them that said why I loved him. Awe moment right?

Aaron picked up frames at the thrift store and sanded them and repainted them. He put card stock in the background and put prints of the temple, Jesus Christ, and the third will be the Proclamation to the Family (it didn't come in the mail yet.) Isn't he sweet? He was reminded in class the importance of having a picture of the temple and Jesus Christ in our homes.

I love my husband to death and can't wait to see what forever has in store for us.
