July

July

July was full of fun days. Gracie is getting so big. She is rolling over and holding her head up during tummy time so well. She will dig her little toes into the carpet and push herself around, but she usually has no idea of where she is going and doesn't end up near the toys she wants. She melts my heart constantly and is still the happiest little girl I've ever seen. Morning and night snuggles are the best. During the day she is too busy to want to cuddle. She still rarely sleeps on her own and only when both baby and momma are exhausted does she finally close her eyes. She still wakes up five times a night because she doesn't like being alone. Though she can entertain herself for a few minutes at a time, usually she looks to mom and dad to be the court jester.

July was also our big vacation month. We got to go to Mack's Inn for our Johnson family reunion and see Yellowstone. It's been far too long since we've done that. Aaron was there 20 years ago, and 10 for me. Grace at 10 weeks has been to 8 different states. Too bad that's the last of our vacation money we had saved up. We will be home bound for the next year or so. My mom and dad got there place at the WorldMark condo for a few days this month so we got to go swimming with them and Jessica and Jax. It was really fun.

Getting so big

Dawson and Quinn came to Las Vegas and stopped by to say hi

Happy Forth of July!

Justin let us go swimming at his place with Araceli and him the day before the 4th. The water was so warm from the hot 115 degree days that Gracie didn't even cry. We started her out in her lifejacket, but she was more comfortable with nothing on. We ordered her a swimsuit, but it hasn't come yet.

Who is the whitest?

On the 4th, Justin and Araceli came over again and we grilled up some steak and brats for dinner. We played poker for a while until it was time for fireworks! Fireworks were amazing. The aerials were legal this year, and from where we are in Las Vegas the whole valley was spread out at our feet. There was at least one firework going off in the sky everywhere you looked. The strip had four good shows, but it was so far away we enjoyed the ones closer better. It was so beautiful.

The Spread

The dogs were terrified and sat on my lap the whole night. It finally calmed down around three in the morning. Grace finally hit the sack at two in the morning. I think there was just too much going on.

Fireworks!
