September Araceli's Bridal Shower

Araceli's Bridal Shower

I can't believe it! Only a few more days before Justin and Araceli are married! Her bridesmaids and family weren't throwing her a shower, so mom called me and asked if I could do it. I said yes, and then stressed and stressed about it. I'm weird like that. That morning I escorted her through the temple to get her endowments out. It was so beautiful and wonderful. I'm so glad I was able to be there and help her through. I love seeing my family all in white. It's truly how I imagine Heaven to be. Aaron was gracious enough to watch Gracie for a few hours while we went. I worried about them, but she did great under Aaron's care. He also cleaned the house for me, so it would be easier to make the food and set up decorations for the shower.

The food table.

I made chips and pico de gallo, rolls, fruit kabobs, cucumber tomato salad, chocolate kisses, and a teriyaki chicken, spinach, and mandarin orange pasta salad. We had mint lemonade and bottled water to go with it.

The pink velvet wedding dress pull apart cupcakes I made. So yummy.

I made mint sugar scrubs for the favors, and we played a few games. I put all of their engagement photos on hanging streamers attached to a LOVE frame with more of their pictures. We played a "name the price" game with groceries for Araceli's future kitchen, a spice game where they had to name which spice was which, a marriage advice game, and a game where Araceli had to answer a bunch of questions about Justin and each one she got wrong she had to eat a piece of Bubblicious bubblegum. It was hilarious!

Araceli in her special hot seat. It says Bride to Be.

Presents!

Everyone who came. We had eighteen people in our tiny condo. There were people sitting on the floor! Yikes! We also had to repeat everything once in English and again in Spanish.

She loved it!

Araceli holding all the kids that came. I don't think they will be baby less for long.

Justin was a good sport and kissed all the bows out of her hair.

Four months!

Grace is 4 months old!

Bad mom award. I totally forgot to grab a picture on her 4 month birthday so these were taken two days after. Oops! Grace is exactly in the 50 percentile. The doctor says not to lose or gain anything. She is still in 0-3 clothes, but feels like a pile of bricks when you pick her up.  Grace is still the happiest baby! She loves to smile, blow bubbles and raspberries, and talk and talk and talk. When you pick her up she will attempt to dig her little toes into your belly and climb up you. At bathtime, she will kick her legs until there is water splashing over the sides and all over her head and face. She is still very active. She can get on to her hands and knees and rock back and forth, and she can scoot anywhere she wants to be. She is much more interactive and will giggle at you if you sing to her or tell her something funny. She likes to go grocery shopping and grab any food item going into your mouth. We gave her a sippy cup to practice with, but she grabbed it with both hands and started sucking. She got it right away, but the doctor says I shouldn't be giving her water like I was, so we are going to put that one away for a little longer. Aaron loves playing with her now because she loves to play with him back. She is so much fun!

Again, the many faces of Grace Lynn

Getting ready to start crawling...yikes.

Nanook

Nanuk

Dawson and Quinn went to Alaska for two weeks and left their lab puppy Nanuk with us. We took them to the airport and she had severe anxiety! Nanuk had diarrhea and started barking and whining in her kennel all night. After a few days she calmed down and Kodi and Nanuk played and wrestled together all day long. We took them out hiking almost everyday because Nanuk thought it was time to wake up at 6:00am everyday and wouldn't stop barking until you let her out to play. I was happy to leave Nanuk with her parents again when we picked them back up from the airport.

Dawson gave me the mom haircut. It's is so crazy to feel all my hair gone! I really like it though.

Pretty Sadie pants

I forget how much I love watching the world wake up in the mornings.

We watched their truck for them and took it Lake Mead to see if their lab could swim as well as ours.

Nanuk is a true lab! She swam after us in the kayak and around us swimming.

So cute!

The Flamingo

The Flamingo

Since Aaron had the day off, we decided to check out one of the oldest hotel's on the strip. They have real pink flamingo's out by their pool, and walkways with Koi fish, lots of birds, and waterfalls. It was lovely to walk around as a little family and enjoy the sights.
